Why We Built a Studio Where You Laugh So Hard You Cry.

Our Story - Welcome to Wicked Rae's

Wicked Rae’s isn’t just an art studio.

It’s a creative rebellion. A textured, paint-splattered sanctuary for people who are tired of filters, perfection, and pretending to have it all together.

This is where creativity meets connection - where laughter, movement, and color collide to heal, empower, and ignite new stories.

We built Wicked Rae’s not just for artists, but for humans. For teams that need bonding, families that need joy, and neurodivergent individuals who need space to feel fully safe, seen, and free to express.

We’ve worked with global corporations, local schools, government programs, and community orgs to create custom art experiences that spark connection, release stress, and bring people back to life.

Whether you’re planning an offsite, a youth program, or a date night - you belong here.

Oak and Bones

From Vermont to Seattle - with Bones-Fish in Tow

I’m Jules. I’ve worn many hats: artist, firefighter, actor, sleep specialist, program director, and organizational psychologist. Art was my first love - and the one that never left me, even when life got dark.

My daughter Oakley is a visual storyteller and intuitive textural artist. She designs art experiences that spark laughter, calm the nervous system, and help people of all ages feel instantly at ease. Her magic? She sees through the noise and helps others feel safe enough to create again.

And then there’s Bones-Fish - our ten-year-old English Foxhound and therapy dog, who’s been a grounding force through it all. His job? To remind you that you're safe, loved, and welcome just as you are (and to demand ear scratches).

The 12-Year Journey That Changed Everything

We didn’t set out to start a business. We set out to survive.

Over the course of twelve years, we traveled across the U.S. - camping under desert skies, painting on porches, and dreaming in national parks.

We lived in more than ten states, visited nearly fifty, and met strangers who felt like soul family.

We made art to process trauma. To grieve. To reconnect.

We didn’t always know what we were building, but we knew what we were searching for: A place where creativity was about truth, not talent. Where people could exhale and be real again.

So, we built it.

Wicked Rae's Was Born in the In-Between

In 2023, we opened Wicked Rae’s in Seattle. What began as a small splatter studio quickly evolved into a hub for:

  • Team-building events that foster vulnerability, innovation, and unity

  • Youth workshops rooted in texture, play, and sensory-safe exploration

  • Private parties and retreats where everyone leaves lighter

  • Live art installations that transform weddings, galas, and corporate summits

We’ve hosted:

  • Leaders from Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Avalara, and Paycom

  • Educators and students from Seattle and Bellevue School Districts

  • Nonprofits, therapists, and social workers from DSHS and Autism Awareness Groups

  • Global event planners crafting unforgettable artistic moments

No two experiences are ever the same - because we design them for the humans in the room.

The Principle That Changed Everything

“The mess isn’t the problem. It’s where the magic hides.”

At Wicked Rae’s, we lean into the mess - not just physically, but emotionally. We believe art is a tool for nervous system regulation, emotional release, and identity reclamation.

That joy is a skill we practice. That creative play helps teams communicate better, kids regulate more deeply, and families reconnect in ways words can’t reach.

We don’t teach art - we create space for people to feel something real. And walk away with something that reminds them they matter.

Why We Laugh So Much (Even After Everything)

People ask us:
“How can you laugh so hard after everything you’ve been through?”

Because we choose to.
Because laughter is medicine.
Because art is the best kind of protest against burnout, shame, and disconnection.

At Wicked Rae’s, we throw paint. We break patterns. We build trust.

And we laugh until we snort - because joy is our revolution.

Our Why

We believe in…

🎨Art as medicine, not a performance
💛 Laughter as resilience

🧠 Healing through texture, movement, color, and sound

💬 Creative expression as a language beyond words
🌈 Spaces that embrace all identities, all stories, all brains
🤝 The kind of community that remembers your name

💡 Designing partnerships that create impact - in schools, teams, and communities
