Daily
Splatter Art: All Ages
Get ready to rock your inner artist at Wicked Rae’s with our Splatter Art experience! This class is perfect for anyone looking to unleash their creativity in the most vibrant and unconventional way. Go solo or bring a group of friends (up to 6 people) and spend 30 minutes transforming a blank canvas into a riot of color. What You’ll Do: Water Balloon Painting: Launch water balloons filled with paint at your canvas for explosive bursts of color. Spray Can Art: Use spray cans to add layers of texture and depth to your masterpiece. Racket Painting: Swing rackets covered in paint to create dynamic, sweeping strokes (and smash water balloons filled with paint). Sponge Art: Dab and press sponges soaked in paint for a fun, tactile experience. What’s Included: Protective Gear: We provide shoe coverings, shower caps, and eye shields to keep you clean. Flexible Sessions: Want more time? Reserve a longer session with 48 hours’ notice. Convenient Facilities: A large restroom is available for changing outfits if needed. Youth Art Enrichment Workshops: Ages 8 to 12
We offer year-round youth enrichment workshops in art theory, foundations, and history for those looking to explore the arts and find their unique style. Below, you will find what we offer and how we teach. We offer a structured environment. However, we understand every artist is unique, and we tailor the lessons per individual for a truly immersive experience. Monday Art Workshop: Brushstrokes and Beyond 1. Practice Exercise (30 minutes) 2. Artist Spotlight (15 minutes): Learn about renowned artists who’ve mastered their craft. 3. Guided Art Session (2 hours): Themed projects guided by expert instructors. 4. Group Critique (20 minutes): Share your work and receive (and give) constructive feedback. 5. Group Clean up (10 minutes) Wednesday Textile Workshop: Weaving Creativity 1. Practice Exercise (30 minutes) 2. Textile Trailblazers (15 minutes): Explore the legacy of textile artists throughout history. 3. Hands-On Textile Crafting (2 hours): Create fabric wonders, from crochet and costumes to fashion accessories. 4. Group Review (20 minutes): Share your work and receive (and give) constructive feedback. 5. Group Clean up (10 minutes) Join us as we nurture creativity, celebrate individual expression, and learn from the masters! FAQ on minimum age: Depending on the child’s level of independence, active interest in the arts, and ability to maintain focus and follow instructions for three hours without disrupting the learning environment for other artists, exceptions to the minimum age requirement can be made for children as young as six years old. Drawing 101
Welcome to the world or drawing. In this class, our instructors teach you the fundamental skills you’ll carry with you into all forms of art – as being able to draw effectively like a pro will allow you to master other forms of art and perfect “your style” no matter how abstract or real your style is. What You’ll Learn: Observational and technical skills where you learn to capture the world around accurately by mastering lines, shading, perspective, and composition. All while exploring different mediums such as pencils, pastels, and charcoal. Class Details: This class is designed for ages 13+, and is offered on the weekends to avoid rush hour traffic! Heal Your Mind
Learn how to change your narrative and heal your mind. For good. Sometimes, there are no words for what's going on inside your head. You've read every self-help book, clocked 50+ hours with a therapist, counselor, life coach, and the few people you call besties - but at some point, you just stop talking. You still can't shake the ugh - that feeling of helplessness, loss, fear, anxiety, or simply - that you don't "fit" anywhere. So how do you process outside talking and journaling? You combine methods of healing until you find ones that work for you. What we at Wicked Rae's offer you is a proven strategy to help you release and process old and new wounds. And no, you do not have to talk, but we encourage it for connection. In our Sensory Exploration Art Class, young artists embark on a delightful journey where imagination meets sensory discovery. Designed specifically for ages 2 to 7, this class celebrates the joy of exploration, play, and creativity. Here’s what your little one can expect: Sensory Adventures: Dive into a world of touch, sight, smell, and sound. We encourage children to explore materials, textures, and colors through their senses. Process Over Product: Forget perfection! We cherish the artistic process—the messy, joyful, and curious moments—as children express themselves freely. Seven Elements of Art: Together, we’ll engage with the fundamental elements of art: color, shape, line, texture, space, form, and value. Playful Learning: Through hands-on activities, we foster cognitive development, language skills, and spatial concepts. Art becomes a powerful tool for growth. Plein Air Workshops
Step out of the confines of the studio and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature with our Plein Air Adventure Workshops. Experience the age-old tradition of painting ‘en plein air’ (in the open air), and let the world around you become your canvas. Students have the flexibility to meet at Wicked Rae’s, from where our expert instructors will drive them to and from the site location, up to an hour’s drive each way. Alternatively, students can choose to meet directly at the locations. The price includes transportation as well as park fees, making the experience hassle-free. Our workshops range from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location. During this time, you’ll explore: Diverse Locations: Each workshop takes you to a new picturesque setting within a 30-mile radius, offering fresh perspectives and sources of inspiration. Technique Mastery: Learn to swiftly capture the fleeting moments of light and atmosphere that make plein air painting so enchanting. Students will learn and experiment with canvas, wood, lamp shades, and other materials, as well as splatter techniques like Jackson Pollock. What You’ll Experience: Learn brush techniques and color mixing to create expressive pieces. Tailored guidance to suit beginners and challenge advanced students. Join at any time and progress at your own pace in a supportive environment. Students will receive access to the online community with extra learning resources and the opportunity to interact with their classmates in a private, safe, online community.
