Team
Building
at Wicked Rae's.

Most team building happens in the head. We get that. Ours starts in the body.

To be honest, we've heard teams say, "this is so much better than VR rooms, escape rooms, mini golf, rage rooms, and bowling." We hate the phrase "trust falls." We literally cringe. And the wine and paint party where everyone paints the same sunflower isn't really all that stimulating to your people. It's expected and in the box.

We're masters of chaos and getting people off their phones while getting their hands covered in something and somewhere around 20 minutes the vibe changes to laughter.

We built a small space for a reason and keep the lights soft or black-lit. Textured and sensory art are our specialty; as well as paint balloon splatter art and music that drowns out that internal voice overthinking everything. Super annoying that one.

Jules McVey is our in-house Organizational Psychologist (and firefighter, sleep medicine specialist, surrealist painter, and jack of about seven different trades depending on the day). Oakley Rae is our creative mastermind, baker, reconstructionist by nature, fabricationist by range, and a forensic psychologist in training (and more depending on the day as well).

Plus, our Chief Morale Officer, Bones, is an English Foxhound. Bones is 11 years old and he's got things to say that make even the most stoic human crumble when he says hi. You'll understand when you meet him.

We keep up with the research. Jules has written organizational frameworks for the US federal government, educational teaching university healthcare centers, non-profits, and even tech giants like Microsoft and Meta.

Guess what? Throwing paint at Stacy in Marketing or Bob in Accounting is so much more satisfying than painting a flower the guy next to you has as well. We know this from your people telling us this.

HOW WE WORK WITH YOU.

Sometimes, you make really cool creations at our studio; splatter and textured based art done at our tables. Sometimes, it doesn't look great for you or some of the team, especially those plagued with perfectionism. We don't shy away from that.

Here's the truth about making things with your hands and imagination:

If you only do something one time, you kind of suck at it. Unless you're a prodigy. Kudos to that person. But the rest of us learn in layers. We fail. We retry. We fail differently and then one day the thing in our head shows up in our and hands and we start jumping up and down from pure joy.  Or, you get this sly smile, nod, and say, "huh." (also joy)

Here, at Wicked Rae's, you get me, Oakley, and the dog. We let you fail on purpose.

We let you retry. We guide. Then one day the sun comes through the clouds and blinds you and you say oohhhh. That's the moment you breathe deeper. Because progress takes times, just like relationships, innovation, and building a resilient mindset.

Why our studio is small on purpose.

We cap our in-studio sessions at 10 people, 15 at the max.

This is not a marketing decision. It's a psychology one. For example, put 50 people in a room and they hide. Put 12 in a room with paint, plaster, music, and props and they look at each other. Real eye contact.

Small breaks walls. Walls breaking is what we sell. (with laughing)

When you want bigger, we travel.

We do mobile events anywhere in the US. We will go international. Just ask.

Mobile costs more. We're not going to pretend it doesn't. But for groups of 20 or 40 or 80 or 200, mobile is how we do it. And we make it the part of the retreat people are still talking about six months later.

We've done warehouses. Backyards. Boardrooms. Ballrooms. State parks. A weirds industrial loft. Tell us where and we show up.

Custom is most of what we do.

You don't have to splatter.

We build custom workshops constantly. Clay prints in shadow boxes, chicken wire sculpture. LED light installations. Clay. Wood panels. Linocut. Mixed-media chaos that doesn't have a name yet because we just invented it for your team last Thursday.

If your CTO wants to weld and your COO wants to throw clay, we'll build the room for it.

Tell us what you want your team to feel and we design the rest.

Every package includes private studio access, full facilitation, and complete cleanup. Pricing is confirmed before anything is added. No surprises.

MOBILE ART ACTIVATIONS

Who this is for.

Leaders who know how to get the hell out of the way and let their employees grow past them. We have mad respect for you.

Startups crawling out of the layoff cycle. Small teams rebuilding, celebrating local economies, doing things sustainably, refusing to do it the old way.

Type A perfectionists who cannot remember the last time they did something badly on purpose. They hate us for the first hour and then they won't leave by the 3rd hour.

Teams who need to zone out and laugh - we're like the place your dreamt of as a kid.

Teams that
laugh; thrive.

Who this is not for.

The people who demand a picture-perfect result on the first try. The ones who cannot put their phones down. The ones who walk in already deciding they hate it.

If you see our studio and say "oh god no," we mean this with love. Please don't come.

You'll make us feel weird. We'll make you feel weird. Nobody wins.

We all have these people in our teams. It's life.

Funny enough, these people are the ones who need our space the most as they forgot how to play, probably talk really poorly to themselves, and being perfect on the outside is a lot of work.

The best teams are the ones that have a blended mix of mindsets, and they can poke fun at each other.

So if you have a few peeps who struggle with perfectionism you can bring them - just know they will complain for a little bit but then you'll see a whole new side to them.

Repeat experiences = growth

What you actually walk away with.

Eye contact. Real eye contact. Core memories.

A canvas. Or a sculpture. Or a wood panel covered in something that started as an idea in your head and ended up in your hands.

The moment we call the awwwwww...

The sun-through-the-clouds moment. The moment you stop being someone who used to make things and become someone who makes things again.

One visit and you have entertainment. A great Tuesday. A good story.

Come back a few times and something different happens. Your team changes shape.

The walls you didn't know were there start to come down. The people who never speak up start to. The people who run the meeting learn to be quiet for an hour.

That is the part you cannot buy in a single offsite.

READY TO BOOK?

Call, text, or email us. Tell us who your team is. Where you want it. What you want them to feel by the end. Anything we should know about access, energy, or dynamics.

We design it with you.

48 hours minimum notice. Two weeks is required for large builds. Mobile costs more. Custom is our basically our thing. International is welcome. We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays, but a lot of teams come together on a Tuesday. Who knew?

If this is you, that's cool, just reach out and we'll figure it out together.
